This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform
Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting
in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines,
plus some of the common and life threatening medical, trauma and environmental emergencies with a further emphasis on the management of asthma and anaphylaxis in the child care environment
This course has been developed for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency. During training you will gain the confidence and ability to recognise an emergency situation, identify hazards and make them safer, and provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

Pre-requisites
There is no prior learning required to attend this course
Online delivery - self paced learning with face to face assessment
60 minute face to face assessment adhering to NSW Health guidelines
120 minutes for more than 5 students
The online learning component consists of self paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course however should take no longer than 6 months from date of initial enrolment.
Course Requirements
Participants are required to
perform 2 minutes
of uninterrupted CPR on an adult on the floor and an infant and child
