This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform
Provide Emergency Care for Suspected Spinal Injury
in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines,
management of suspected spinal injuries and casualty
This course will develope skills to recognise and manage a suspected spinal injury, to minimise further injury by immobilising cervical spine, evaluating the need to move a causaltand, preparing casualty for transport and continued monitoring.

Pre-requisites
This course has the prerequisite of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
Online delivery - self paced learning with face to face assessment
2.0 hours face-to-face training - online theory completed prior to attending the face to face asessment session.
Course Requirements
Participants are required to
perform 2 minutes
of uninterrupted CPR on an adult on the floor
